Not possible. If you have a MySpace, anybody can take your picture and create a MySpace page pretending to be you. It usually happens only for mischief because there is no (financial) fraud possible unless the person has been careless with his personal data

There is no real way to prevent it as what you put on a social networking site is by default, has the potential to be seen by everyone all over the world.
One way you can prevent (although not eliminate) this possibility is to use social networking sites that have privacy options, which allow you to choose who sees your private information and photographs.
To make sure your better secured, ensure you never post information which compromises your security, such as your national insurance number, credit card details, address, date of birth to websites that do not need it. For example, if a community based website needs your credit card details prior to logging in, then alarm bells should be ringing.
Nothing major is needed, just common sense, and a little knowledge in how fraudsters trick their victims.
